Vacation Services

Vacation pool service, so the pool is still clear when you get home.

Away for the summer or a long weekend, the pool is still swept, skimmed, tested and dosed. You come back to water you can get into.

Chapter 01

What an unattended pool does in a Chandler summer

Warm, still water is where algae grows fastest, and a Chandler pool in July is both. Left for a few weeks, a pool that was clear when you locked the door can be green by the time you unpack. The chlorine that was holding it clear burns off in the sun, and nothing is adding more.

Meanwhile the baskets fill with leaves and palm litter, and the heat pulls water out of the pool by evaporation. As the level drops toward the skimmer, the pump can start pulling air instead of water, which is hard on it and leaves the filter doing very little. By the time anyone looks, the problem is no longer a weekly chore. It is a recovery.

How vacation service keeps it on schedule

Vacation service keeps the pool on the same schedule it would be on if you were home. The work follows the same list as weekly service: the walls, benches and steps swept, surface leaves and debris netted, the pump and skim baskets emptied and cleaned, an equipment check, water testing and routine chemical addition, salt system maintenance where the pool has one, and back washing and vacuuming as needed.

The point of keeping to that list is that nothing gets the chance to build. A basket emptied every week never starves the pump. Chlorine topped up every week never drops far enough to let algae start. And an equipment check on a pool nobody is using catches the pump or filter that is quietly failing, so you hear about it before you are back and wanting to swim.

Chapter 03

Coming home to a pool you can swim in

Away for the summer, the pool is still swept, skimmed, tested and dosed, so it is swimmable the day you get home.

That is the whole promise, and it is a modest one: the same pool you left, not a project waiting at the back door. If you are a Chandler or Gilbert customer heading out for a long stretch, the best time to set this up is before you go, not from the airport.

Call Del Sol at (480) 272-7260 before you leave, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, and talk the trip through with the office. Del Sol is family owned and operated, and fully licensed, bonded and insured under ROC#275375.

A call before the trip

Four things to have ready.

  • How many weeks you will be away
  • Whether the pool has a salt system
  • What the water looks like today
  • Whether you are already on weekly service

If the water is already cloudy or green before you leave, start with a green pool turn around so the pool leaves with you in good shape. Customers on weekly service can simply tell the office the dates. Or send a note about your pool and the office will call you back, or ring (480) 272-7260.
